Spring 2011 Nail Trends

So we have finally entered the blogging world! We are excited for this opportunity to bring you amazing DIY party ideas, beauty tips and so much more. If there is something in particular you would like to see on our blog, please feel free to send us an e-mail at info@spaeventsny.com with your ideas.

With spring upon us, you are probably thinking about pedicure appointments to get your tootsies into tip-top shape before flip flop weather is here. (Although hopefully you have gotten a few maintenance pedicures at least throughout the winter to manage dry skin and calluses that come with our wonderful Upstate, NY winters) Some of you may be interested in what the newest spring colors & trends are for 2011. Well we are here to tell you!

Nudes are big! Above is manicurist Josephine More working behind the scenes at Fashion Week 2011 holding up one of our personal favorite shades: Innocence by China Glaze. Designer and industry veteran Tadashi Shoji chose this sheer, pale, pink polish for his renaissance-themed Spring Collection. Nude nails were a favorite, without a doubt at the Spring 2011 Fashion Week in New York and it works well with all skin types for virtually every season.

Other similar nude colors we love: Diva Bride & Heavenly by China Glaze or Bubble Bath by O.P.I

                                         Lady Gaga

                                                   Beyonce

Another trend that is huge right now are Metallics! Various metallic polish shades and minx nails are all over the runway this year A lot of celebrities, including Jessica Lowdens, Beyonce, Lady Gaga & Rhianna have been spotted sporting trendy metallic polish colors as well. We think that the key to keeping these nails looking chic and sophisticated is keeping the nails short. Go too long and they may get a little funky!

We all know Pastels are inspired by the pallet of a flowerbed and what a perfect way to inject a pop of color into our spring look! Pastels are HOT for spring! We especially love this particular shade by China Glaze called Refresh-Mint. Blues of all shades seem to be popping out everywhere this season as well; so how appropriate is this light pastel blue color for spring! We love it.
Pastels such as peachy pink also look fabulous with a great tan and Lavender is another one of our favorites that look stunning with every skin tone. While pastels seem to always be "in" for Spring, lavender and peach seem to be jumping out from the rest for 2011.

Some more of our favorite blue choices:
China Glaze-For Audrey, Essies-Coat Azure & Zoyas- Akyra
